Buddhism

by Ramses Sidrak

Mr. Ramses Sidrak comes from Egypt and has lived in Britain since 1966.He is not only a poet but also a fiction writer and uses both Arabic and English as medium of expression. He is happily married to an English girl and, unlike most poets, lives in a real world instead of seeking refuge in a universe of make- believe. Being a devout Christian, he loves to be of service to all his friends irrespective of their colour and creed.

LONELY

From Stockholm she brought with her
to our little nest,
In our little town,
An exquisite crystal vase,
For a single flower.
And flower after flower towered
Exquisitely,
Arrogantly,
Crushingly,
Above everything else
In the humble sitting room.
But what do you expect
From a lonely individual?
And when it withered, near
Dying
it bent
and wept.
