Confession

I gladly confess that
my past was dominated by ignorance because I preferred gossip to rationality and
chose to praise the imaginary gods instead of appreciating the universality of
nature. It is a pity that I made offerings to the graves, believed in hajj and
ritual sacrifices to qualify myself for the stunning houries who exist nowhere
but in fantasy only. Yet, I do not blame myself for such superstitions. because
I come from that part of the globe where religious make-believe has taken over
the role of reality for many centuries and, as a result, where a murderer is
rememebered as a ghazi or shaheed, and where a million people may be
legitimately put to death for establishing the sovereignty of Allah.
As I entered the prime of my life, I was brainwashed by
the deceptive promises of paradise, rich in gushing fountains of wine and most
devastating houris equipped with large flexing eyes and enthralling bosoms. I
must confess that the bribing effect of Islamic beliefs deprived me of my
rational powers and I lived like a moving statue.
I must confess that eventually my power of reasoning
rose from the torpor of Islamic superstition and the idols of Muhammad and his
descendants, which had been wrought by the blind faith, crumbled gradually. I
came to realise that Islam had been equated with the golden era of humanity
through the formidable force of sustained propaganda of centuries, elevating the
Arab heroes to the status of gods. In fact, falsehood of religion drove me into
the arms of atheism which I hold as the truth.
I confess that there is no such thing as prophethood.
This is a device which clever people use to give themselves the status of God
but without calling themselves Divine. They raise their significance by coating
their humanity with pretended divinity. For example, the Prophet Muhammad
claimed that he had the intercessory powers to accommodate his followers in
paradise irrespective of their conduct. Though this device is a fountain of
immorality, it has secured him millions of followers, who actually worship him
though in the name of Allah.
Religion is the ploy of such men who desire to be
treated as God by dividing humanity into warring sects. I am glad to say that
time is approaching rapidly when reason will subdue blind faith and destroy the
self-projected saviours of mankind. I confess that worshipping God and pleasing
Him with hymns of praise is the proof or His non-existence. What kind of God is
He who loves and nourishes on human flattery. Prayers cannot change the course
of nature; we must learn to solve our problems through justice and moral
remedies.
