Zahir Shah's Letter to Anwar Shaikh
|
Dear Mr. Shaikh:
Your writings have exerted an incredible
influence on me. Before reading your books and articles, I was a prisoner within
myself but after reading your thoughts, I have been able to free myself from the
bonds of narrow-mindedness and superstition. It is a tremendous feeling which
has made me aware of what freedom of spirit symbolises.
It is really something to experience the veil of
ignorance lifting from one's mind when reading a book or an article; the bliss
of seeing an infinite horizon during such an ecstatic state is beyond
description. I am, of course, referring to your book: ETERNITY and all
issues of Liberty.
In short, I am very very grateful that I found out
about your writings, otherwise, I would still be imprisoned within myself.
Yours sincerely,
Zahir Shah
